Dr. Alyson Gorun received her undergraduate and medical degrees from New York University. She completed her psychiatry residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. She is also a graduate of the psychoanalytic training program at the Columbia Center for Psychoanalytic Research and Training.

Dr. Gorun is the Acting Director of the Aaron Stern, M.D., Ph.D. Program in Psychodynamic Psychiatry. She is also the Associate Training Director of the General Psychiatry Residency Program and Director of Psychotherapy Training at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine.

She has published and presented nationally on topics in reproductive psychiatry, psychodynamic psychotherapy and resident education. She has received numerous awards for her teaching and supervision of medical students and residents and holds national leadership roles in psychotherapy training and resident education. Her clinical areas of expertise include menstrual cycle disorders, preconception consultation, psychiatric disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum period, pregnancy loss, infertility and menopause. She also welcomes patients experiencing a broad range of psychological conditions, relationship concerns, life transitions and other emotional challenges.
